BJP General Secretary quits

Sex scandal: NDTV: "As the BJP celebrates its 25th anniversary at its national executive in Mumbai, a potential scandal has erupted.

On Tuesday, party General Secretary Sanjay Joshi sent in his resignation after reports that he was filmed in a compromising position with a woman.

This has come to light after a VCD emerged and is in the possession of media organisations.

Although some leaders in the party don't see anything dramatically wrong with any of this, others feel that this has discredited the RSS which has always taken a moral ground on these matters.

Joshi, a senior RSS leader deputed to BJP in 2001, met party President L K Advani and requested to be relieved of his post in the wake of attempts by some elements to "defame" the party.

He has also appealed for an inquiry into the campaign against him and the party and wanted to be relieved of his responsibility till it is complete, party Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu said."
