SemIndia treated badly by TN govt

SemIndia treated badly by TN govt, says Maran - The Economic Times: "Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a foundation stone laying ceremony of the software technology parks of India (STPI) here, he said the IT Corridor project was the concept of the previous DMK government.

The old Mahabalipuram road, being developed as the IT Corridor, was now an it hub and an important part in making Tamil Nadu a leading it player in the country. “The deadline for completing the 26 km it corridor stretch is May 2006.

But the state government is not showing any interest in completing the project. Instead, its focus seems to have shifted towards the elections,” he said. “Time is very precious while promoting it companies. Work has to be implemented and completed fast, which the state government has not understood,” Mr Maran alleged.

However, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Rajashekar Reddy took personal interest and the necessary initiative in the project and invited semindia to their state, leading to the company finalising the state, he said.
