16 chargesheeted in Dinakaran case

Chennai Online News Service - View News: "While 15 persons, suspected to be supporters of M K Azhagiri, senior DMK leader and son of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi, had been charged with various offences including murder and rioting, DSP V Rajaram had been charged with dereliction of duty in the 32-page chargesheet filed before Chief Judicial Magistrate A Devasahayam.

The 15 persons chargesheeted included V P Pandi alias 'Attack' Pandi, M Tiruselvam, M Saravanamuthu, M Murugan, S Vijayapandi, P Kandasami, M Ramesh Pandi, G Ramiah Pandi, M Valivittan, M Thooyamuthu, V Sudhakar, Rameshkumar, Kattuvasi, Manic Badsha and I Ruban (all suspected to be Azhagiri supporters and members or sympathisers of DMK). They had been charged with murder, rioting, rioting with deadly weapons, rioting with common object, trespass and mischief by fire or explosive substance.

The DSP is facing charges under IPC 217 (public servant disobeying direction of law with intent to save persons from punishment or property from forfeiture and 221 (intentional omission to apprehend on part of public servant bound to apprehend)."
