HindustanTimes.com: "Speculation that Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Pervez Musharraf could win the Nobel Peace Prize is doing the rounds.

Jan Simonsen, a member of the Norwegian Parliament, has nominated US President George W. Bush and UK Prime Minister Tony Blair for their fight against terrorism.

Others nominees, mentioned by researchers, include the European Union for its efforts to overcome divisions in Europe by expanding eastwards, Mohamed El Baradei, the chief UN nuclear watchdog, country singer Willie Nelson for his song "Whatever happened to peace on earth" and Pope John Paul II.

It is said that former US senators Sam Nunn and Richard Lugar, who have been nominated earlier as well, could be honoured for trying to destroy WMDs in the former Soviet Union and for their efforts to keep them out of the hands of terrorists.

The Salvation Army and organisations fighting AIDS might also be recognised and honoured."
