New York Post Online Edition: entertainment: "THE Tony Award nominators have consigned 'Bombay Dreams' to the black hole of Calcutta. The $14 million musical about Bollywood that came to Broadway by way of London's West End was shut out of every major Tony Award category yesterday, including the most important, Best Musical. It did receive nominations for its costumes, orchestrations and choreography, but those are minor kudos that mean nothing at the box office.
"Wicked," "Avenue Q" and "Caroline, or Change" all were expected to be nominated for Best Musical, and indeed were. The fourth slot, which could have gone to "Bombay Dreams," went instead to "The Boy From Oz," as dopey a musical as you are likely to find on the Great White Way, but one that the nominators obviously preferred to "Bombay Dreams."
