Indian American's film to be aired on US TV

siliconindia.com: "Nisha Ganatra's 'Cosmopolitan', in which award-winning Seth and Carol Kane play a lonely senior and a playful divorcee respectively, will air nationally on the acclaimed PBS series 'Independent Lens', hosted by Don Cheadle, June 1. When his orderly life collapses after he loses his job -- and his wife and daughter abandon him -- immigrant Gopal (Seth) reinvents himself as an all-American bachelor.

The script is by Sabrina Dhawan, who wrote "Monsoon Wedding" for director Mira Nair while pursuing her graduate degree in film at New York University's Graduate Film School. Ganatra's first film, "Chutney Popcorn", received much acclaim, garnering Best Feature Film awards at the Outfest Los Angeles and the San Francisco Film Festival Audience awards in Berlin. She recently completed her feature comedy, "Fast Food High", for producer Susan Cavan. Last year, she directed "The Real World New York" for MTV and the "Real World/Road Rules Challenge", which is currently airing."
