The New York Times > Technology > Circuits: "morphases.com invites Web users to play God - or a really good plastic surgeon. The site, which made its debut five months ago, has attracted more than 950,000 visitors from 150 countries, according to Jouni Matero of Medialinja Oy, the Finnish media agency that created it. The company hopes to market its facial-manipulation software to police departments, hair salons and others.
Links are the Web's lifeblood. But couldn't finding them, sharing them with friends, and posting them to a home page or blog be made easier? That is the goal of www.dudecheckthisout.com, a new free service that allows users to collect and share links with just a few clicks.
Another new service, furl.net, helps users save and share links in a "digital filing cabinet." Among other features, members can subscribe to their friends' archives and receive a daily e-mail report on their discoveries. In a different approach, www.stumbleupon.com helps users share links by asking them to rate sites through a browser toolbar.
Datedex.com lists events and holidays worldwide, including, crucially, the social calendar of the British royal family."
