It's a season of remakes in Kollywood.

IndiaGlitz: "It's a season of remakes in Kollywood. Vasool Raja MBBS starring Kamal Haasan and Prabhu is a remake of Hindi blockbuster Munnabhai MBBS. Similarly, Prabhu is assigned to play the lead in a movie with Karthik titled Gusthi. It's a remake of a recent Malayalam hit starring Mohanlal. Also, Vijayakanth's next release Gajendra is a remake of Telugu hit Simhadri. This film is supposedly a remake of Malayalam hit Balettan, which had Mohanlal in the main cast. Prashant's forthcoming release Shock is a remake of Hindi horror flick Bhoot.

After their success of the film Sundara Travels, producer S V Thangaraj is churning out a movie Meesai Madhavan which is based on an hilarious Malayalam film Kabuliwallah. After Jeyam, Ravi is currently acting in M Kumaran S/O Mahalakshmi, a remake of Telugu hit -- Amma Nana O Tamil Ammayi, while his next Tamil venture would be a remake of Varsham.

Director Manivannan is all set to return to wield the megaphone. He would be directing a movie based on Malayalam flick Yavanika, which will have Sathyaraj in the main cast. Vijay's latest hit Ghilli is a remake of Telugu hit Okkadu, while Surya's Perazhagan was a carbon copy of Malayalam hit Kunji Koonan."
