Mother and daughter's trip ended in death on the 5.35

Times Online - Britain: "A MOTHER and her teenage daughter on a shopping expedition to London and a railwayman with 40 years experience were among the victims of a man who apparently committed suicide by parking on a level crossing in the path of a 100mph train.

Rail chiefs praised the efforts of the train’s driver, Stanley Martin, who they say did “everything possible” to avert the accident. Investigators have recovered data recording from his cab which showed how he struggled to halt the express as it travelled at more than 100 mph. "
