NDTV - Arts: "Pop legend of the 1970s, Sting performed at the Bangalore Palace Grounds this evening. It was his first solo concert in the city and the preparations involved for the show were elaborate. Over 16,000 tonnes of equipment was flown in to give the fans an audio-visual treat. The Bangalore concert is part of his Sacred Love tour, but Sting also included some of his greatest hits so as not to disappoint his fans.
He also succeeded in breaking new ground as solo artist crossbreeding Latin, jazz, rock and pop. The 53-year-old school teacher-turned-rock artist is performing in India as part of his Asian tour dubbed as "Sacred Love" for hundreds of thousands, who perished in the December 26 tsunami disaster. His performance in Bangalore will be followed by one in New Delhi on Sunday (February 6). "
