Elcoteq Network, a Finnish electronics company, has opened a manufacturing plant in India and expects investment in the unit to reach $100 million, the chief of the company said.
"The plan is to hire 1,000 people when the unit is fully operational next year," said Jouni Hartikainen, chief executive of Elcoteq. The Bangalore facility has the capacity to make 10 million mobile phones annually. (AFP)
