A Review of the Reviewers' Reviewers.
New West Network | By Allen M. Jones :: Browsing the Book Blogs: " On one side, youve got an entrenched community of cultural aesthetes (the corp of print reviewers) who spend their days creating and destroying careers. (A Kakutani rave and youve just made rent for the next ten years; a Yardley pan and you might as well dig out the old Wal-Mart nametag.) On the other side (trumpet blare), from out of the amorphous sludge of zeroes and ones, we see arising a new community, a collective of self-appointed watchdogs, keyboard jockies, late night inadvertent ascetics who spend their wee hours pronouncing on the pronouncers. Does it really matter that some of these folks cant write for free cheese? "
