In Chennai city, at six huge screens in its opening weekend (June17-19), the film has grossed an amazing Rs. 50,24,063, a box-office record! In Andhra Pradesh, the Telugu version, "Aparichitudu", has been declared a hit by the trade. Says Karunakara Reddy of Megha Films, Hyderabad, which is distributing the film for the Nizam area: "`Aparichitudu' has taken an opening just like a Telugu superstar film and should collect a distributor's share of Rs. 5-7 crores for the Nizam area alone." From theatres in Tamil Nadu, `Oscar' Ravichandran will get a distributor's share of Rs. 8-10 crores in its first week itself! "
