Many People, Many Desires

has won the Best International Documentary Film Award at the New York International Independent Film and Video Festival 2005.

Many People, Many Desires explores the intersection of sexuality, class, gender identity and human rights in India. Set in the city of Bangalore, it records the desires and aspirations of young hijras, transsexuals, kothis, double-deckers, lesbians and gays. It follows their struggle for equality, dignity and acceptance.
