Salman's lawyer denies underworld links

NDTV: "Bollywood star Salman Khan is in the midst of another controversy. A newspaper has carried transcript of an alleged conversation he had with Aishwarya in which the actor can be heard bragging about his underworld links.

Salman is also believed to have dropped names of top gangsters in a bid to threaten Aishwarya. The conversation was apparently taped four years ago by the police as part of their investigations into the links between the film industry and the underworld.

Mehta said further that the alleged incident took place almost four years back and should not be given so much importance now. The police, on their part, have refused to comment as to why action was not taken four years ago."
