Parivaar

Life gains a new meaning when you can make a difference in the life
of not so fortunate kids and ensure that these youngsters get an
opportunity to achieve something in their life. Some of us keep
thinking of it but can do precious little being deterred by what it
takes to create an organization that can provide such an enriching
environment to the needy kids.

I would like to introduce you to "Parivaar" (www.parivaar.org),
which was started in January 2004 by Vinayak Lohani, an alumnus of
Indian Institute of Calcutta (2003 batch), in Calcutta, India right
after completing his post graduation. Parivaar is focused on total
rehabilitation of the homeless/orphaned/abandoned street kids of
Calcutta and in just over a year has grown to providing a new life
to over 115 street kids (aged 3-11).

Lately, if you have been thinking about opportunities of giving
back, may I request you to extend your valuable support
to "Parivaar"? This is a great opportunity for you to support an
organization in India doing some unique work and making a difference
to so many young lives.

There are many ways you can contribute – financially ($25 per
month
or any other amount), through spreading the word around and simply
through words of encouragement.

I have personally been involved with Parivaar, have been genuinely
impressed with the work and would love to see many more people
getting involved in such unique opportunities of making a difference
to what our world of tomorrow will be like.

Should you have questions, I will be more than glad to answer your
questions; alternatively, you can also get in touch with Lalit
Kumar, IIMC 1998 at 512.773.2286 or at sreelalit@gmail.com.

Looking forward to hearing from you,

About the founder: Vinayak Lohani , the founder of Parivaar is an
alumnus from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur (IIT) and
from the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta (IIM). The urge to
do something socially meaningful led him to give up a potentially
lucrative career path after IIM, start an NGO and in the process
became the first alumnus from the prestigious IIMC to not take up a
corporate job immediately after graduation. In the space of less
than an year, over 115 kids have seen their lives being transformed
completely. Parivaar has also been extensively featured in the
Indian media. Parivaar runs completely on charitable contributions
and every cent of your contribution will make a significant
difference to the life of a street kid. Tax exemption is available
to donations in the US through Foster India Foundation; details are
at www.parivaar.org/remittance.htm
