The statement was made to a TADA court in Mumbai where the trial is being held. Under TADA regulations, confessions made before an officer of an SP rank is of high value during the time of prosecution.
He fled to Portugal and after many years on the run, Portuguese authorities deported Salem and his accomplice Monica Bedi to face fraud and terrorism charges in India."
