Aniston named 'Woman of the Year'

NDTV: "Hollywood actress Jennifer Aniston has made history by becoming the first female to top men's magazine GQ's Man of the Year list.

Jennifer Aniston - who is featured scantily clad on the latest issue of the glossy men's magazine - and boyfriend Vince Vaughn arrived separately to Thursday night's event.

Aniston's former Friends colleague Courteney Cox arrived with husband actor David Arquette to celebrate Aniston's award.

"It's beautiful...it's really beautiful," Cox commented. "She's gorgeous and I'm very proud that she is the first 'Woman of the Year'. That's awesome, it's a great magazine."

Aniston was named "Woman of the Year" for her poise, grace and good humour during her breakup with Brad Pitt this year, according to the magazine.

Her latest beau, actor Vince Vaughn, who was picked for being "hilarious, charming and smart" and rap artist 50 Cent were also named "Men of the Year".

Hustle and Flow actor Terrence Howard received GQ's Breakthrough Award, about which the recipient had mixed feelings.

"My award tonight...Breakthrough Man of the Year. I thank them for that. My momma is proud of that right now," he said.

Other men honoured from the worlds of entertainment, business, fashion, politics and sports included seven-time Tour de France winner Lance Armstrong, "spousal sex symbol" Kevin Federline (aka "Mr Spears"), Joaquin Phoenix, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Brokeback Mountain cowpoke Heath Ledge and former news anchor Ted Koppel.
