NDTV: "A diverse selection of films being screened has helped shift the focus of the critics from what is being called mismanagement of the International Film Festival of India in Goa.
The Brazilian film Olga has been a particular hit. Due to popular demand, the film has been screened thrice in two days.
But when it comes to the choice of films featured as part of the Indian Panorama, there are some filmmakers who feel the section should focus more on emerging trends in Indian cinema rather than portray the traditional ways of identifying films.
"If the younger generation wants to make popular movies, the distinction between mainstream and art house has to go away," said Sudhir Mishra, Filmmaker.
While the glamour associated with international festivals maybe missing, one can take heart in the fact that the quality and choice of films with which a festival is identified is finally looking up."
