Vyjayantimala honoured at Pune film festival

NDTV: "Veteran actress Vyjayantimala was honoured with the lifetime achievement award on Sunday evening at the Pune International Film Festival.

The award was presented to her by Shashi Kapoor.

The first south Indian actress who rose to stardom in Bollywood may have been away from mainstream cinema for close to four decades but that has certainly not diminished her popularity.

Even today, her grace and effortless performance in the film Jewel Thief is firmly etched in the audiences' minds.

Shashi Kapoor also presented the lifetime achievement award to filmmaker Yash Chopra.

He has been entertaining audiences for over five decades first as a director then as a producer with a variety of blockbusters such as Deewar, Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayange, Dil to Pagal Hai and Veer Zaara.

Chief guest Shashi Kapoor also presented the award to well known cinematographer Victor Kemper, who is also the chairman of the jury at this festival."
