CPI leader dead

The Hindu : Tamil Nadu News : Briefly: "M. Adhimoolam, leader of the Communist Party of India and who fought for rights of agricultural workers in the State, died in Madurai on Friday after a brief illness. He was 87. He is survived by his wife, two sons and a daughter. In 1942, he worked with B. Srinivasa Rao in establishing the Tamil Nadu Vivasayigal Sangam. He served as general secretary of the sangam for several years. Later, he became president. He was a member of a high-level committee on agriculture constituted by the State Government. The funeral will take place on Saturday at his native place of Keezhappasalai near Manamadurai."
