A Maker of $14.99 TV's Aims for Higher Ground - New York Times: "Coby Electronics, a developer, manufacturer and distributor of consumer electronics with offices in California, Florida and Mexico. The company, which has annual sales of $300 million, also has two factories in China and will open another one there — by far its largest — in May.

Coby has for years made the CX-TV1, a sturdy, five-inch black-and-white television with an AM-FM tuner that sells for $14.99 — $10 less than the price of most newly released DVD movies."
