Former Pondicherry Chief Minister R V Janakiraman (DMK) lost the Nellithope constituency to AIADMKs Om Sakthi Sekar. Janakiraman had won the seat successfully for five times since 1985.
K Muraleedharan
DIC-K leader K Muraleedharan has been defeated by over 7,000 votes by LDF independent P T A Rahim in Koduvally in Kozhikode district. Son of senior leader K Karunakaran, Muraleedharan is the DIC-K's state president.
