NDTV: "Bollywood's well-known filmmakers Mahesh Bhatt and Sudhir Mishra spoke about the nightmares of filmmaking at a seminar organised in Mumbai on Tuesday night. A few filmmakers got together in the film hub to discuss problems of distribution and screening of films featuring lesser known actors and even smaller budgets.
Filmmakers said it was not all about working with glamorous stars and raking in big bucks. For those films that do not feature the Khans it is not an easy deal. "I have to rely on my story. I know that only if I have a very good story will my film be touched," said Pooja Bhatt, a filmmaker. "There was a time that none wanted to touch Jism and I have to often give a cut from my salary or profits to my financers," she added.
Not every banner pulls as much weight as the Yashraj banner, which even dictates the terms when it comes to profit sharing with exhibitors."
