Headbutting for Self-Defense

Headbutting for Self-Defense: The Conventional Wisdom is Wrong by Brad Parker: "I have repeatedly debated high-ranking martial artists (as well as others) about how to most effectively use the headbutt against an opponent. Unfortunately, they usually advise people to strike with your forehead, right at the hairline. This, they say, is the thickest part of the skull and would do the most damage.

I respectfully have to disagree with them. when you headbutt with your forehead, your brain is bouncing off those pointy bones. Can you spell "punch-drunk"? This is what my brain injury doctor calls "dementia pugilistica", the diminished mental and physical condition boxers find themselves in after repeated blows to the frontal and temporal lobes. "
