Chidambaram's son appointed temple trustee

The Hindu News Update Service: "Chennai, Nov. 18 (PTI): Karthick P Chidambaram, son of Union Finance Minister P Chidambaram, was today appointed trustee of the Danyathapani temple at Palani, the richest temple in Tamil Nadu. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi made the appointment today, an official press release said.

Industrialist S V Balasubramaniam would head the temple's board of trustees, the release added. Former TMC MLA and a leading hoisery exporter Mohan P Kandasamy, Indira Ravichandran and A Nagarajan would be the other members of the board, it said.

Former TNCC President Kumari Anandan will head the Tamil Nadu Palm Workers Welfare Board. Today's appointments were part of the DMK Government's decision to accommodate members of its allied parties in several boards of the government. "
