Death Sentence to Saddam Hussain

The Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) has issued following
statement:



Death Sentence to Saddam Hussain


The Polit Bureau denounces the death sentence on the ousted president of Iraq,
Saddam Hussain. This is nothing but a totally rigged verdict delivered after a
farcical trial. The defense lawyers representing Saddam Hussain were murdered
and the Chief Judge was changed twice in the course of the trial. The British
and U S governments should realize that if executed, this sentence will be seen
only as a 'Judicial Assassination' and they will be held responsible for all
the consequences.



The Polit Bureau demands that the UPA government should categorically condemn
this judicial travesty. It must actively intervene to get this sentence
rescinded.



The Polit Bureau calls upon all its Party units to protest against this
verdict. It also calls upon all the democratic minded citizens to raise their voice of
protest.
