A sociological study of India’s IT and ITES workers at How the Other Half Lives

Sugata Srinivasaraju has this Outlook story on the results of a recent sociological study of employees in India’s booming IT and IT-enabled services (ITES) industries. The study was carried out over a period of more than two years (November 2003 to March 2006) by Carol Upadhya and A.R. Vasavi of the National Institute of Advanced Studies (NIAS, located within the campus of the Indian Institute of Science).

The full report — all 195 pages of it! — is available here; evidently, there’s a lot of stuff.
