Ravi Subramaniam turns approver

Newindpress.com: "The prosecution in the Sankararaman murder case on Thursday received a shot in its arm with Ravi Subramaniam, one of the prime accused, turning an approver before the Chengalpattu Chief Judicial Magistrate. The charge against Ravi Subramaniam is that he had distributed money to the contract killers.

Ravi Subramaniam, who was arrested on December 21, is the first approver in the high-profile case in which both the acharyas of Kancheepuram Sankara Mutt have been arrested. He is also one among the three persons to give confession statements in the case. The other two are Kathiravan and Dil Pandian. However, Kathiravan later retracted.

MADHAVAN CASE: Meanwhile, in Chennai, Principal Sessions Judge P Murugesan adjourned the hearing on an anticipatory bail application from Shankaracharya Jayendra Saraswati in the Tirukottiyur Madhavan assault case to February 3.

RADHAKRISHNAN CASE: The judge also adjourned till January 25 further hearing on the bail applications from Kathiravan and Sundaresa Iyer in the Radhakrishnan assault case, following a plea from the City Public Prosecutor.

MUTT MANAGER CASE: In yet another related development, Public Prosecutor K Doraisamy on Thursday told Justice K P Sivasubramaniam of the Madras High Court that the prosecution would not seek any more adjournment in the cases relating to Kanchi Mutt manager N Sundaresa Iyer."
