HOTMAIL AND OUTLOOK LINK: Microsoft unveiled a service allowing users of its Hotmail e-mail accounts to use its Office Outlook program to track e-mail messages, schedules and contacts. For $60 a year, users will get 2 gigabytes of online storage for their e-mail, photos and schedules, along with the latest version of Outlook. (Reuters)

AOL SHARPENS SEARCHES: America Online said it was enhancing its search functions. Queries will now generate a group of results called "snapshots" - editorial content and relevant information for a wide range of topics including local movie showtimes, sports statistics and current events. AOL's searches can now group results by topic. The company is also introducing a tool to help users narrow their queries. (AP)
