Dalit leader likely to star in Tamil film

Thirumavalavan goes from censoring Movies to Acting in them:- - Entertainment News - Webindia123.com: "Dalit politician T. Thirumavalavan could soon don a new garb - as a film actor.

The founder-leader of the Dalit Panthers of India (DPI) may act in the film "Anbuththozhi" if Madukoor Movie Makers succeed in signing a contract with him, according to media reports.

Thirumavalavan is said to have approved of the script of the film based on a real life incident reported from Sri Lanka. It is not yet known if the film's theme is related to the Sri Lankan Tamil struggle that the party supports.

His acting abilities are yet to be revealed but he is known as a powerful public speaker. Thirumavalavan may enter filmdom around the same time as veteran actor Vijaykant plans to enter politics.

The film is to be directed by debutant Kiruba Saravanan. Bharani and Sowmya will be in the lead. "
