Tamizhthirai TV- Newindpress.com: "The Tamil film industry and cable operators in Tamil Nadu have joined hands to launch a new entertainment channel that begins telecast April 22. The 24-hour channel called Tamizhthirai TV will show programmes based on Tamil films.
Speaking on behalf of the film industry, noted director Bharatiraja told the media on Friday: "It will be an entertainment channel. It is not a competitor to any other channel". The channel will telecast via the Thaicom 3 satellite, based in Bangkok, Bharatiraja said, adding that the programmes could be viewed in 110 countries.
Initially, it would be a free-to-air channel available on the prime band. Depending on the response, it could be made a pay channel, he said. The channel will also produce feature films for telecast through its own network."
