NDTV-Cricket!: "Former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly has been dropped from the Indian team for the third cricket Test against Sri Lanka beginning in Ahmedabad on December 18.
Mumbai opener Wasim Jaffer replaces Ganguly in the squad. He has played 7 Tests for India, the last of which was in England in 2002.
Ganguly had been included in the first two Tests as a batting all-rounder. He had scores of 5, 40 and 39 in the three innings that he played in the Chennai and Delhi Tests. It's been almost a year since Sourav Ganguly led India to a historic series victory in Pakistan. And now it is almost certain that he will not make it to Pakistan for the tour in January."
