Kal Ho Naa Ho sweeps IIFA awards

NDTV.com : "Karan Johar's Kal Ho Naa Ho swept the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards, winning eight top honours including Best Film and Best Actress. Preity Zinta's role as Naina, a woman torn between the affections of happy-go-lucky Aman (Shahrukh Khan) and best friend Rohit (Saif Ali Khan) fetched her the Best Actress award.

Hrithik Roshan was adjudged Best Actor for his splendid performance in Koi Mil Gaya. The Roshan family rejoiced once again, as the sci-fi flick Koi Mil Gaya fetched the Best Direction honour for papa Rakesh Roshan. Kal Ho Naa Ho also bagged the awards for best music direction, story, lyrics and male playback singer. Music Direction honours went to the Shankar-Ehsaan-Joy trio, while director Karan Johar won the award for best story. Javed Akhtar won the best lyrics award while Sonu Nigam's soulful rendition of the title song won him the Best Male Playback Singer award."
