No queue for Rajnikant

The Hindu : Tamil Nadu / Chennai News: "Film star Rajnikant cast his vote at a booth in Stella Maris College this morning, even as his fans, media photographers and video cameramen laid siege to the polling booth. In the absence of any visible security, it was a free-for-all at the booth. The Chief Minister, Jayalalithaa, had cast her vote hardly half-an-hour earlier.

While the Chief Minister stood for more than 15 minutes to cast her vote, Rajnikant was requested to proceed to cast his vote, instead of waiting for his turn in the queue. The queue-wait is waived only for senior citizens and the handicapped.

Rajnikant said that he had voted for the "NDA alliance."

Eyewitnesses said that Rajnikant's wife and daughter demanded the same treatment as was accorded to the actor - that they be allowed to vote directly instead of waiting in the queue. This request was turned down and hence they left without voting."
