www.smh.com.au: "Not to be outdone by the cricketers, Lleyton Hewitt yesterday auctioned a racquet to raise funds for tsunami victims - and then matched the top bid dollar for dollar.
Bidding began minutes after Hewitt defeated Karol Beck and was soon up in the thousands as a war developed between two fans, while the players due on court waited on the sidelines. "Tell Carlos Moya we won't be long," joked the announcer as bidding dragged on.
The racquet finally went for $5000 with Hewitt matching the sum. He will auction racquets throughout the tournament and at the Australian Open, with proceeds going to UNICEF."
