'Bollywood fails on script, structure' -- Indian Express Newspapers: "‘‘I don’t know how you guys will take it, but I think you guys falter on script and structure,’’ said the 60-year-old Hollywood actor, in Mumbai to announce his next film. ‘‘Also, the Indian process that you guys have of actors doing many movies at one time doesn’t really benefit in the long run,’’ said the two-time Oscar winner, clad in a charcoal suit and green shirt.

Racing the Monsoon is a co-production with Sahara One Motion Pictures and Percept Picture Company. Production—the third part in the action adventure series Romancing the Stone and Jewel of the Nile—starts in January 2006.

The film will be shot entirely in India, especially in Sahara’s sprawling ultra-luxury Amby Valley township, south of Mumbai, and will likely star Aishwarya Rai.

Douglas said he would bring wife Catherine Zeta Jones for the shooting. “I promised my wife that I won’t expose myself to too much to this country until she comes with me,’’ he said. ‘‘She’s always wanted to visit India.’’ Douglas, also producer of the film, is trying to get the support of the Indian Railways: a major part of the film is centered on a diamond robbery in a train.

Asked if the film would have songs, Douglas shot back, “It better. We are certainly trying to include songs. But if that’s not possible then we might take care of an item,” he joked. He confessed he had only watched “parts and pieces’’ of Bollywood films: two he’s recently seen are Rai starrers, Bride and Prejudice and Raincoat. "
