Bangalore hosts international marathon

NDTV: "Bangalore was on the run today as it hosted its first-ever international Marathon. While Ethiopian runner Adenech Beyene came first in the women's event with a time of 2 hours 47 minutes, there was a surprise in the men's race. India's CK Ramu won the men's Full Marathon with a time of 2 hours 23 minutes 46 seconds, ahead of the fancied Ethiopian contingent.

A Half Marathon was also held, but it was the Celebration Run of 7 km that brought out the Bangaloreans in their thousands. The Half Marathon took off at 6.30 am (IST), with 21 kilometres to be run by supremely fit and very serious runners. The run saw the participation of some very special people, including several disabled people. "
