Mouli's Classics - Launching

KalaKendra - Theatre - Moul's Classics - Launching: "The eminent film & stage personality and the people who brought out the legendary ‘Flight 172’ on DVD/VCD now present not one, but 3 telefilms of Mouli under the title, ‘Mouli’s Classics’.
Each film in this collection is based on a true story and fathoms the depths of human mind with a spontaneous humor that makes it easy for the viewer to identify himself with each character and his/her predicament.

The DVD version carries Mouli’s lively introduction before every film wherein he shares with the viewer as to what gave him the creative spark to do these films and his interesting experiences on the sets.

‘Bumper Parisu’ deals with a man who believes more in luck than labor. ‘Amavaasai IAS’ describes how an arrogant, city-bred man undergoes transformation at the hands of a rustic, unlettered farmhand.
‘Sundaram & Sons’ is a critique on the prevailing permissive trends in society that allow free intermingling of betrothed couple and its undesirable fallout.

The grand launch of ‘Mouli’s Classics’ at Music World, Spencer Plaza, Chennai on August 3, 2005.saw Film Actor Madhavan release the first copy of the VCD, which was received by the Manager of Music World.

Speaking on the occasion, Madhavan recalled how even in his earlier days in Bihar he was familiar with Mouli’s plays and films and had always wanted to do a film with him. When his dream came true in ‘Nala Damayanthi’, he realized comedy roles were far more challenging than playing an action or romantic hero. He expressed his desire to team up with Mouli again and requested him to keep another script ready for him.

He informed the audience that a part of the proceeds from the sale of the VCD/DVD were diverted to Sri Mata Trust, a charitable institution working for the rehabilitation of cancer afflicted patients. He added that through laughter, the audience could not only rid themselves of illness but also provide relief to the hapless patients.

K S Sudhakar, Managing Director Swathi Soft Solutions proposed the vote of thanks."
