NDTV: "Cyclone Fanoos is now threatening Tamil Nadu and is about 350 km east of Nagapatinam. The cyclone is likely to hit the Tamil Nadu coast between Nagipattinam and Chennai by Saturday afternoon or evening.
Once it hits, the cyclone will bring with it 60 to 70 kilometers per hour winds and heavy rain. People in low lying areas have been asked to move to shelters and fishermen have been warned not to venture out to sea. In all, 143 relief centres and corporation kitchens have been kept ready in case of evacuations. Earlier this week, Chennai was swept by the worst flooding in 20 years.
Monsoon rains swelled two rivers leaving several parts of the city underwater and a key road bridge was temporarily shutdown. Over 75,000 people were evacuated during the floods."
