Sivakasi leaves theatres hesitantly

Sivakaasi - Music India OnLine: "Something cruel is happening to hit film ‘Sivakasi’. It is going to make way for Surya’s film ‘Aaru’, though it is still going strong. Vijay and his dad S.A.Chandersekhar’s bit to stop their film from forcing out off the theatres have gone futile. So, it has no other means but to leave the theatres.

‘Sivakasi’ is still doing good business but many theatres like Chrompet Vetri, Kolathur Ganga, Ambathur Rakki and Sangam in Chennai city have booked for ‘Aaru’, which is releasing on December 9 in about 40 theatres. So, ‘Sivakasi’ will have to make way for ‘Aaru’ after 38 days in the theatres.

The theatre management argues that a mass film does 80 percent of its potential in the first 25 days of opening. ‘Aaru’, which has Surya and Trisha in the lead roles will also make way for Vijay’s film ‘Aadi’, scheduled for release on Pongal. So, it will stay in the theatres for only 35 days."
